Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM): Module 2 on Reliability and Validity
Dear All:
Greetings!
Welcome to the second module of the lecture series on CB-SEM. In this module, I introduce the ideas of reliability and validity. The module has 5 lectures: first three cover reliability and the last two cover validity.
Lectures 1 and 2 cover the basics of reliability, the mathematics behind Cronbach’s alpha, how to compute Cronbach’s alpha using hand and the importance of reliability in Psychometrics.
Lecture 3 demonstrates how to compute reliability (Cronbach’s alpha) using SPSS.
Lecture 4 discusses the idea of validity and describes the different kinds of validity discussed in research, namely, content validity, face validity, discriminant validity, convergent validity, criterion validity and construct validity.
Lecture 5 describes nomological validity.
These lectures will be useful as we discuss the other ideas relating to SEM in the coming modules.
