About the Workshop:

The workshop was held on every Sunday from November 21, 2021 to December 26, 2021 (1.30pm – 5pm) via online medium (through Zoom).

Focus of the Workshop:

Today we have ocean of data everywhere, and every second more than previous, data is generated. The workshop ‘Statistics with R’ covers the contents of an introductory statistics class and teaches the concepts using the R statistical software. The workshop will provide hands-on learning sessions about how to get started in R as well as giving an introduction to data manipulation and writing scripts. From a statistical perspective, the workshop will provide basic understanding of statistical concepts and their applications in solving management problems. The workshop would cover basics of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, correlations, ANOVA, regressions and non-parametric tests.

The workshop will begin from a basic level and will help participants learn data analysis using R.

Learning Objectives:

Upon the completion of this workshop, the participants would learn:

1. Gain familiarity with R and R-Studio

2. Get introduced to data exploration using R-commander and graphs/plots in R

3. Learn the basic concepts of correlations, ANOVA and regressions.

4. Learn how to analyse data in R

5. Gain familiarity of doing ANOVA tests and regressions in R

6. Get introduced to non-parametric tests and their applications in data analysis.

Who should attend and prerequisites?

This workshop was designed for students (undergraduate, post-graduate, PhD and professionals) who work or will work in times to come with data. Any survey data, experimental data or stock data, needs analysis, will require analysis and inference.

About the Workshop Faculty (Prof. Harsh Pradhan):

Haarsh Pradhan is an Assistant Professor at Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University. Harsh Pradhan has completed Ph.D. from Shailesh J Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay in the area of organization behaviour. He also holds MBA degree from IIT Delhi and B.E. from Delhi College of Engineering (DTU). Prior to joining the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University, he has served as Assistant Professor at IIM Bodh Gaya and University School of Management and Entrepreneurship, Delhi Technological University. His research interests include concept like motivation, self-management, job performance. He has taught courses like organization development, human resource management, psychology, statistics for managers. He has acted as reviewer of international conferences and journal. He has many research papers in international journals and conferences to his credit. He also has two years of corporate experience.
